I have been a serious user of computer recording software for over 18 years (wow, where did the time go?). And I remember the days when it was just a dream to have a multitrack rec studio, on the go, casual or otherwise, and with a myriad of synths, samplers and fx all in-the-box. Now, laptops together with expensive interfaces and software packages can get you there, but it is nothing like this experience. Imagine composing tracks while lying on the beach... Not likely to happen with your laptop! There is so much in here that it makes the low price point all the more amazing.
There is really almost anything you need. The fx are good, and will certainly get you off the ground with a good mix should you decide to port over to your main studio to complete the mix. But make no mistake, I have already composed tracks on nano and showed people who thought I must have used ableton, or cubase, etc.
If you are like me and thought hard about which iOS daw to use, think no more. There is a reason the reviews are so slanted for this jewel of an app, and there is a burgeoning community coming up around it. It should be the future of music composition on ios devices. And, its a good thing, there is still room for improvement and it looks like this dev is serious about giving back and listening to their customers.
It took cubase 15 years to become the big, bloated beast that it is (I mean that lovingly, soft of) and here is a new entry in that lineage without all of the baggage, perfectly inline with a new gen, and a new way of making music. Exactly what artists want - something new, that just WORKS. Thank you!
