NanoStudio App Reviews

Stop thinking and buy

Hands down one of the best "all in one" music apps that gives you total control over recording, synthesis, editing, and mixing. Nanostudio works incoreibly well and looks great on iPad too. I cant say enough about how pro this music program is. Best support of any of the music apps, the creator follows the thriving forums and implements input regularly. You like making music? This one will satisfy your creative itch, guaranteed. Simple yet intuitive... Brilliant.

My favorite app

I use this app everyday on the way to work in transit to write music. Its fast and powerful. You also have more freedom with samples as well as creating your own synth sound, which is something FL studio is really lacking. Personally much easier to use than other music studio apps.

The best 15$ spent in AppStore!

This is well worth the money... Its a great tool that immediately feels familiar to anyone whos tried digital music making. Great for laying down melodies that hit you on the go... No regrets, no complaints. Not perfect with room for improvement, but its already a "have to get"!

More fun than a barrel of monkies

Amazing app! Its basically exactly what they say it is, a DAW on your phone! Considering the cramped quarters the iPhone screen has to share, this app has been well thought out and is fun to use, and thats a very important thing with virtual song writing - it has to be FUN and INSPIRATIONAL or it wont work. This one has both so its a winner. The sounds are fantastic and very usable especially in dance/electronic/lo-fi/ minimal but for sure it can accommodate any style. Its a wonderful tool to have when you are not near your desktop computer, heck you can even use this app instead of your desktop app and still get amazing results... kooky! This app is ground breaking stuff! I remember when MIDI was new, and we all said this is ground breaking! Well now with these amazing apps on the iPhone and iPad, its a new era for making music on the go..... Love it. --Alex Franco

Great workflow!

As a Cunbase and fl studio user on pc, Im used to the luxuaries of the keyboard and mouse set up, but I feel right at home with this app, so powerfull, just wish it had better sound design options,

Nothing else comes close

By far and away the very best audio app available, and I cant see that changing for a very long time. Others have written about the workflow, the quality and the performance, the polish of Eden synth, the load times etc. I wont clutter these reviews with the same thing. Its the little UI touches that make this a truly remarkable accomplishment in my mind. Every screen, every control has been carefully crafted for the mobile touch experience - you almost never have to hunt and peck, the buttons are for the most part right-sized, and little things, like the thin vertical bar overlay that you get when adjusting mixer levels so you dont have to guess whats under your finger all contribute to make this the best functional app I have ever used on this platform - never mind within the music category. Look forward to the iPad version.

Unbelievable

5 years ago I was amazed I could have a studios worth of production equipment on a laptop. Today, Ive got it on my phone. I had given up on iOS audio apps since every one I came across seemed little more than a toy or came with a ton of limitations. Not Nanostudio. If you get one audio app for iOS, make it this one. You will not regret it.

An amazing portable music studio

I absolutely love this app over any other app on my phone. The software is incredibly fast, features solid and operation stable. (ie NO crashes)! I have no need for games with this sweetheart app. I use it standalone and with my Akai Synthstation which is compact enough to travel in your carry on luggage. I just cant say enough about how great this app is. Hats off to the dev team.

iOS5

It crash often since i installed iOS5. Im using it on a iPhone 3GS and the akai synthstation 25. But this app is still the best of his kind.

Amazing... Thanks!

Theres not much to say except that theres nothing else quite like it. Real power, real control, looks beautiful on the IPad. With NanoStudio, Korg Nanokey 2, and IPad2 I can finally write real tunes on a plane! Keep up the good work.

Just keeps getting better!!

Ver 1.21 was 5 star. Now its even better. Alternate keyboards. Velocity input from position. Solos and mutes on every channel. Tons of optimizations!! Rock solid app! The best there is.

Massive Nano Studio

Hello This is very simply an incredible piece of programming, an very useful music creation tool and great gobs of fun. Well done Mr Nano. Regards Krzysztof Szychowski

Great dubstep app

I use this app for producing dubstep and I love it!! It would be nice to have more samples and instruments for dubstep.

Working Great on New iPad 3rd gen

Ive been a true fan and Follower of this app from the very beginning and the new iPad makes this app look even more beautiful. I cant wait for the updates for the graphics look on the new iPad. I cant believe it may even look better than it already does, cheers team for a great app and great support

Pretty good

Wish had more instruments. The fact that you have to pay another $5 to get 16 tracks feels like a rip off. New samples I get, but paying for something thats available in the app already feels a bit wrong. Still, great app. Smooth and easy to use.

Great for jamming and composing.

I enjoy playing with it on the subway, or jamming with friends. Its very easy to improvise with and the synth/sampler will keep you busy for days with all the possibilities. Some very minor nitpicks include the song-view auto scrolling messing up selection sometimes and the metronome off button doesnt work the first time. Also please allow me to sort the saved projects by date, I make so many of them that I lose track!

Ubelievable functionality

I have been a serious user of computer recording software for over 18 years (wow, where did the time go?). And I remember the days when it was just a dream to have a multitrack rec studio, on the go, casual or otherwise, and with a myriad of synths, samplers and fx all in-the-box. Now, laptops together with expensive interfaces and software packages can get you there, but it is nothing like this experience. Imagine composing tracks while lying on the beach... Not likely to happen with your laptop! There is so much in here that it makes the low price point all the more amazing. There is really almost anything you need. The fx are good, and will certainly get you off the ground with a good mix should you decide to port over to your main studio to complete the mix. But make no mistake, I have already composed tracks on nano and showed people who thought I must have used ableton, or cubase, etc. If you are like me and thought hard about which iOS daw to use, think no more. There is a reason the reviews are so slanted for this jewel of an app, and there is a burgeoning community coming up around it. It should be the future of music composition on ios devices. And, its a good thing, there is still room for improvement and it looks like this dev is serious about giving back and listening to their customers. It took cubase 15 years to become the big, bloated beast that it is (I mean that lovingly, soft of) and here is a new entry in that lineage without all of the baggage, perfectly inline with a new gen, and a new way of making music. Exactly what artists want - something new, that just WORKS. Thank you!

The best

If you are looking for a music app, look no further. When I bought this I was so impressed with EVERYTHING. I even bought the in-app addition which I have never done with any other app. Its even integrated with Sound Cloud which helps me so much. This is an app made by artists, for artists. Stop reading the reviews and just get it!

Wow

I have been recording music since 1999 and have used everything from Acid to Ableton Live. I play piano and drums professionally. This is like a combination of Acid and Ableton on iOS. An audio recorder would be a great addition although you can use the sampler, but it is not quite the same. This beats everything in the AppStore for editing and arranging. The synths and drums are all fully editable and sound completely awesome. And it is cross platform! Add an audio recorder to add an audio track and this will be the most complete and easy to use audio program I will use.

Really useful

Its amazing i just wish there were more loops to chop up and u could chop your own music
